“I will most certainly hold the rope.”
- Pastor Andrew Fuller
1 NOTE
William Carey (1761-1834) is widely known as the ‘father of modern missions.’ He was born in the United Kingdom and died in India. He was a church planting missionary. He taught himself multiple languages to translate the Bible into three Indian languages. Carey founded a fruitful Christian college in India. He was an amazing missionary.
When Carey and his family left England for India, they knew they would never return. To be faithful to the mission and to complete the assignment of God, they needed spiritual power. Pastor Andrew Fuller records that at the send off prayer meeting Carey told his band of prayer partners, “We (the Carey family) are entering into the pit. We need you to hold the rope.”
Our family are missionaries to Compton, CA. Our church plant Holy Faith Fellowship is in year 3. We also serve church planters and leaders around the world through Antioch. We are positioned for a big year of tools and training. As we live in the pit of inner-city and apostolic ministry, will you be our rope holders?
Please email if you feel lead to pray for three focused needs every month. I will update our rope holders on God’s grace and progress at the end of every month. The first prayer requests will be sent out February 1.
